24 Mar Readability v.s. Legibility
Readability – this refers to the ease in which a reader is able to read a block of text. This can range from a quote to a lengthy book. While Legibility refers to how easy it is to distinguish between each individual letter or word. Imagine a quote written with the font “Times New Roman” compared with a doctor’s handwriting. A proper font can be read easily and clearly convey a message, each letter is quickly identified. A doctor’s handwriting may take some time to decipher, letters start to merge with one another and the overall message is harder to see. Both Legibility and Readability play significant roles in design and help tell a story, sending a proper message to your audience. – VWI Design Team. Northern California’s wrap industry leader.
